South Lake Tahoe Travels

Monday, July 26th, 2010

This weekend, I spent a relaxing amount of time in South Lake Tahoe!  It was perfect summer weather and I was able to somehow work in some wedding talk…are we surprised?  Each year, Lewis’ family migrates to the same cabin his grandparents (and their five children) have spent their summers these past thirty years to partake in some R&R and family time.  For the last two summers, I have attended and last year, Lewis took advantage of the gorgeous scenery and proposed at Emerald Bay.

Photo-op right after he popped the question last year!

This summer, I brought along a couple jars of my homemade blackberry jam and two new swimsuits (Gottex and Badgley Mischka). I asked Lewis’ sister to be one of my bridesmaids and his sweet little niece to be our flower girl–she’s so girly, I know she’ll love wearing a ”princess dress!”  Here are a couple of pictures I was able to snap while I was there this weekend!

View of the lake from the cabin...beautiful sunsets!

Our fav place for appetizers and drinks after lounging at the beach.

Me and one of my bridesmaids--Lewis' gorgeous sister!

Almost one year exactly since he proposed, Lewis & I went back to our spot in Emerald Bay! I got a sweet kiss to commemorate!

Don’t you just love when your favorite department store removes the sweaters and coats from their floors and replaces their racks with bright, light-weight, and sometimes skimpy swimsuits?  This change in my local Nordstrom’s brings the promise of sunny days, carefree picnics with friends, and dining al fresco in the summer night air!  Seeing the season’s new swimsuits also gets me antsy about lounging on sandy beaches and smelling salty ocean breezes…though my next thought usually goes to uhh, I hope I can do enough Pilates before I will be slipping this swimsuit on!  Which is why I’m very excited about the swimwear line from Spanx!  (Surprisingly, the designs are chic and modern!)  Below are a few pieces soo cute, that I had to share with you.  If you’re like me, it’s easy to just shop from the plethora of Victoria’s Secret suits, so I made sure to not include any of their gorgeous items…a girl’s gotta have some options! (I really want that Grecian goddess one piece!)

Spring is also when I start planning my entire beach wardrobe and you can see I’ve already got a few cover-ups in mind.
