Oscar Night's Fashion Winners

Monday, March 8th, 2010

How much fun were the Oscars this year?!  The show was fun, full of surprises, made breezy due to great banter between the two hosts, and even included that random dance routine (which I could have lived without).  The red carpet didn’t disappoint either!  My favorite starlets were out in full fashion force and they ALL looked lovely.

These are my top picks from last night! Jenifer Lopez’s  silk organza gown from Armani Privé’s Spring 2010 collection and Demi Moore’s ruffled silk organza gown from Atelier Versace were just stunning.  Either of these dresses could be transitioned into wedding gowns! And I just adore Vera Farmiga’s ruffled fuchsia gown from Marchesa–she evoked old Hollywood glamor perfectly!  Which dresses were your favorite?

Check out all the great highlights and celebrity post-show plans from the Oscar after-parties!!!  After arriving at the Govenor’s Ball, Sandra Bullock told reporters she just wants ”to eat and not worry that this dress will bust open!”  Don’t you just love her!

Shift Dresses For Now, Spring, & Summer!

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

I couldn’t help myself today but to wear a spring shift dress to work.  While I did pair it with black opaque tights and a long-sleeved black tee, I also kicked my heels up in adorable nude booties. I am THE biggest fan of a shift dress as they are easy to wear to work and transition into a perfect date ensemble.  The shift dress is also one the easiest patterns to follow and create if making your own…

I’ve sorted though the online racks to bring you a few shift dresses to add to your collection.

The cut of this Lilly Pulitzer dress is quite flattering as it gives a relaxed yet polished  outline.  Pair it with nude gladiator sandals or white espadrilles for spring. Throw on a gold or white cardigan for the evening.

I adore this shift from Max Mara! The graphic pattern keeps the familiar shape of a shift dress chic while the skinny belt maintains the slimming effect.

Here’s a great shift from Asos in a bold red color and detailing at the neckline.  Since a shift dress is a work-wear staple, don’t worry about this one being too trendy.
